Little Bean was founded on the belief that the earliest years of a child's life are the most formative — and that the environment in which they spend those years matters enormously. We set out to create something that felt less like an institution and more like an extension of home.

Little Bean has two campuses: our original Weltevreden Park school, established in 2001, and our Radiokop campus alongside Oak Hill Academy. Families from Weltevreden Park, Radiokop, Honeydew, Allens Nek and nearby Roodepoort suburbs choose Little Bean for early learning, aftercare-friendly hours and a familiar path into primary school.

We welcome children from 18 months through to Grade R, with each class carefully structured for that stage of development.
18 months-3 years
Warm, nurturing care in a safe and stimulating environment, building early social skills and confidence.
3-4 year olds
Building language, motor skills and social confidence through guided play and exploration.
4-5 year olds
Creative learning through art, music, stories and structured activities — building a love of learning from the start.
🏫 Looking for Grade R? Grade R is offered at both campuses — at Weltevreden Park through Little Bean 1, and at Radiokop through Oak Hill Academy. Both give children a smooth, familiar transition into the primary school years.
Our early learning programme is holistic — it addresses the full development of the child, not just academic readiness. We focus on:
Linguistic development, vocabulary building, comprehension skills and the love of stories.
Number concepts, problem-solving and logical thinking introduced through play and practical activity.
Art, music, drama and imaginative play to develop creativity, expression and fine motor skills.
Gross and fine motor activities, outdoor play and movement to support healthy physical growth.

Little Bean gives Roodepoort families a softer, more personal alternative when they are choosing between preschools, nursery schools, daycare options, creches and Grade R centres. With campuses in Weltevreden Park and Radiokop, children enjoy small classes, long school hours and a warm early-learning environment where they can settle, play and grow.
Gentle, age-appropriate care and early learning from toddlers through to Grade R, with each class shaped around its stage of development.
Little Bean 1 welcomes Weltevreden Park families, while Little Bean 2 offers the same caring preschool and daycare experience at 1184 Opera Road in Radiokop.
Children can move from Little Bean into Oak Hill Academy with familiar faces, a trusted school family and a smoother Grade R to Grade 1 transition.
